Artists' Books in UMD Special Collections

An overview of the artists' book collection found in Literature and Rare Books in Special Collections at the University of Maryland.

Introduction

While the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down, it also provided artistic inspiration for many. We have several artists' books in our collection relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and artists' experiences throughout lockdown, using art as a means of contextualizing and examining the experience of living in isolation, fear, and uncertainty. Listed below are a selection of the artists' books within our collection having to do with the COVID-10 Pandemic.
