What are RSS feeds?

RSS feeds help keep track of frequently updated, web-based content without having to continually check the website for new material.

RSS Readers (or aggregators) allow you to subscribe to RSS feeds from any website that offers them.

Here are a list of RSS Readers for different computer operating systems.  Some browsers support RSS functionality, search for the RSS Reader in the Help, Support, or Extension index.

Discover daily updates on new public health research and funding by subscribing to the following RSS feeds.  Many organizations, databases and electronic journals offer RSS feeds, look for the RSS feed icon.  Registration may be required.

PubMed 

Follow the steps described in this PubMed tutorial.

EBSCO databases

  1. Go to Database Finder.
  2. Find a database of interest, e.g. Academic Search Complete. You might select several databases to receive RSS feeds, including MEDLINE. Just click in Choose Databases link to make your selections.
  3. Create an EBSCO account using the link provided on the top right corner of the screen.
  4. Run a search using keywords relevant to your search topic.
  5. Click on Share icon and set up your preferences for delivery frequency and email address.
