About The New York Times

Founded in 1851, the New York Times, commonly referred to as NYT or the Times, is a daily newspaper based in New York City. The Times reports on domestic, national, and international news, in addition to publishing opinion pieces, investigative reports, and reviews.

Over the course of its history, the Times has gone by several names, including The New York Times and The New-York Daily Times (1851 - 1857). Today, in addition to the newspaper, the Times has expanded to other publications, including The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times International Edition, and The New York Times Book Review. In contrast to the newspaper, which is published daily and includes topical reporting, the New York Times Magazine is only published on Sundays, focuses more on long-form journalism, and includes more photography.
