Academic Libraries Organize Books Differently!
Unlike a school or public library, academic libraries organize books by subject matter, which is easier for researchers. UMD (and other academic libraries) use the Library of Congress Classifications to organize our books. This system is different than the Dewey Decimal System which is often used in school and public libraries.
