Microfilm in MSPAL

A guide to microfilm in the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library.

There are two basic steps to citing microfilm:

  1. Cite your primary source.
  2. Add information about the microfilm.

You need to indicate in your citation that you were using microfilm so readers know you were not looking at the original document.

Yale Writing Center has a great page with examples that will help you get a feel for what citing a document on microfilm will look like in different styles.
