News media include newspapers; online news outlets; magazines; newsletters; broadcast video and transcripts; newswires; press releases; radio; and blogs. They're typically considered primary sources and are usually published within hours, days, or weeks of an event.

Find Current News Content

Google News
Google News links to articles from thousands of publishers and magazines, and can be a good place to start your news search. It's especially useful for comparing headlines across different news sources.
- Tip: Click the arrow on the right side of the search box at the top to access some advanced search options.
- Note: Like regular Google Search, Google News searches just the "surface web," so you'll likely hit paywalls unless you're a subscriber. To get full access to articles from many major news outlets, search publication and article titles in the library sources listed below.
Nexis Uni
Nexis Uni (formerly LexisNexis Academic) is a large database of news sources, legal information, and business information. Includes full-text news articles from major U.S. and some international newspapers (1970s-present); legal cases and codes; law reviews and journals; country and industry reports; SEC filings, and more. National Newspapers Core (ProQuest)
Full-text articles from major U.S. publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, The New York Times, The Sun (Baltimore), and The Washington Post.
