SPAN 407- Early Modern US and Early Modern Spain: A Common History

Coverage includes all of the U.S. states, most of the U.S. territories and possessions, and some areas outside of the United States.

This is an interactive guide to accompany Carmen Benito-Vessels’ research about early modern Spain and the early modern United States. The primary goal of this project is to bring to light 16th-century colonial events that happened in the Eastern United States and shaped the history of both countries. Carmen Benito-Vessels is a Professor in the Spanish and Portuguese Department at University of Maryland.
