Local digital resources from DRUM and Fedora are represented in WorldCat.org via metadata harvesting to OAIster or metadata export via the OCLC Digital Collections Gateway or via MARC cataloging into WorldCat. Some digital resources are not represented yet in WorldCat.org and are best discovered in DRUM or Fedora.
Access to some of UMD's electronic resources is available only in ResearchPort, for now. Many of our e-resources are in WorldCat.org because they are cataloged by us. Over 200 of our databases can be searched via WorldCat UMD either through central index metadata or through Z39.50 searching of the databases from the WorldCat UMD Advanced Search. There are 75+ selectable databases in Advanced Search that may be searched alone, or in conjunction with WorldCat.org or other selectable databases. For the most thorough and precise results from a particular database, use its native interface through ResearchPort. Certainly, when you encounter difficulties with access to a particular e-resource via WorldCat UMD, report the problem and switch to ResearchPort.
