Disability Studies at Syracuse UniversityDisability Studies at Syracuse University builds on the pioneering work in the School of Education in the area of disability. Our programs are designed to help students examine disability as a social phenomenon, social construct, metaphor, identity, and culture. Consistent with the Syracuse tradition, we stand at the forefront of the development of the theoretical, research, educational, and advocacy models necessary to remove the social, legal, physical, policy, and attitudinal barriers that exclude people with disabilities.
