Dear [NAME],
I will be using Zoom to conduct our [REFERENCE APPT., INSTRUCTION SESSION]. This is a synchronous video conferencing system that will allow me to share my screen and video chat with you. We also have the option of recording the [MEETING / SESSION] to reference at a later date, if that would be helpful.
Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download the Zoom app from the Download Center. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click a join a meeting link. You can also join a test meeting to familiarize yourself with Zoom. Further resources are available on the Zoom support site.
Our meeting will be held at [DATE/TIME] and can be accessed through [MEETING LINK]. I can also send an invitation to the meeting through Google calendar.
I look forward to working with you. Please be in touch with questions.
Thanks!

Dear [NAME]
I will be using Webex to conduct this [INSTRUCTION SESSION / REFERENCE APPT]. This is a synchronous video conferencing system that will allow me to share my screen and for us to video chat. I can also reference slides or other materials, as needed. If this is your first time using Webex, you'll be prompted to download the installer file to install the desktop app on your computer. If you can't download the installer, you can still join the meeting using the web app. You can also download the software ahead of time at the Webex support center and/or join a test meeting to test your system before we meet.
Our meeting will be held at [DATE AND TIME]. I will be forwarding an email from Webex with access information for our meeting. For your convenience, choose however you'd like to join the meeting from your computer, mobile device, traditional phone, or video system. While all of the options are available, I recommend joining via computer or video system, which will allow us to take full advantage of the Webex platform.
Please reach out with any questions.
Best,

Dear [NAME],
I will be using Webex to record the virtual instruction sessions for students. This is an asynchronous video recording tool that will allow me to share my screen, consult a slide deck, and/or speak directly to students, as appropriate. A Webex recording can be embedded into your Canvas by posting a link directly to the video, which I will provide by [INSERT DATE / TIME].
When students visit the link to the Webex recording video, it may prompt them to download software or a plugin. to download a plugin. If they encounter difficulties viewing the video, there is an excellent support page available here: https://help.webex.com/ld-nyw95a4-CiscoWebexMeetings/Webex-Meetings.
I will be in touch with details about the video as soon as it is available.
Thanks,

You can access Panopto through ELMS-CANVAS using the Panopto Recordings link in the navigation menu or through our hosted service by going directly to umd.hosted.panopto.com.
Dear [NAME]
I will be using Panopto to record the virtual instruction sessions for students. This is an asynchronous video recording tool that will allow me to share my screen, consult a slide deck, and/or speak directly to students, as appropriate. A Panopto recording can be embedded into your Canvas space in one of two ways (1) If you have the "Panopto Recordings" tool activated in your ELMS course, you can simply search the catalog of Panopto videos for the session. I will be in touch with the search criteria to help you locate the video. (2) You can post a link directly to the video, which will be hosted on Panopto.
When you post a link to the video in ELMS/Canvas, the system should automatically authenticate students using their UMD ID and password. If you choose to share the link outside of Canvas, it may prompt students to log in to Panopto. There will be two options "Panopto" and "Panopto Canvas" and students should select the later. It may prompt them to download a plugin. If they encounter difficulties viewing the video, there is an excellent support page available here: https://support.panopto.com/s/topic/0TO39000000RTTJGA4/troubleshoot-viewing.
I will be in touch with details about the video as soon as it is available.
Thanks!
