Journal Club offers a collaborative learning community to engage trends and issues in the profession. Each Journal Club meeting is co-hosted by a graduate student Research and Teaching Fellows, who work together to identify a topic for discussion, locate an article or other learning object (i.e., a video) to function as a focal point for discussion, and develop discussion questions and/or active learning activities for participants. Journal club meetings are open to any staff member in the library or MLIS student.
Although Journal Club typically meets 3-4 times during the semester, Journal Club is typically held online via Zoom and will be offered twice per semester during the 2021-2022 academic year.
