Researching Poverty in the United States

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) serves as shared staff to congressional committees and Members of Congress. Their work includes preparing reports on major policy issues, including poverty and welfare. Among many reports on poverty, the CRS provides a yearly "Poverty in the United States" overview.
