Standards for Education (ISO, IEC, ADA)

The ANSI University Outreach program provides no-cost access to ISO, IEC, and ADA standards for use in course curricula. In addition, access to select ISO, IEC and ADA standards is available for students and faculty. The application form and more information can be found on the website.

Current Standards Subscriptions @ UMD

The UMD libraries maintains current subscriptions to select standards via the following databases:

Intertek Inform
Intertek Inform (i2i) provides electronic full-text access and PDF downloads for selected technical and industry standards. The Libraries' subscription provides users with full access to ASHRAE and partial access to selected NSAI standards, including the Irish adaptations of ISO standards. Standards from NSAI and other Standard Setting Organizations (SSOs) are acquired by UMD Libraries, as needed, on a case-by-case basis. Contact Sarah Weiss (srweiss@umd.edu) with questions.
IEEE Xplore
Full text access to IEEE journals, conference proceedings, and standards.

ASCE Library
Contains publications of the ASCE, including journal articles (1983 - present), conference proceedings (2001 - present), standards (1982 - present), and ebooks (1985 - present).

MADCAD
Cross-searchable collection of building, plumbing, fire and maintenance codes and standards from BOCA, SBCC, ICBO, ILL, ISEA, and NFPA. Access limit is 1 simultaneous users
ASTM Compass
The ASTM Compass platform contains a collection of industry-leading standards and technical engineering information. The collection contains ASTM's 13,000 standards in more than 130 industry areas, symposia and Special Technical Publications (STPs), manuals, monographs, data series, and journals. It covers a broad range of engineering disciplines, including aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, environmental, geological, health and safety, industrial, materials science, mechanical, nuclear, petroleum, soil science, and solar engineering.

ASTM Compass only contains ASTM standards; it does not contain ASTM books and journals. For ASTM books and journals, please use ASTM Digital Library.
