Finding Grammars in UMD Discover

1. Sign in to UMD Discover.

2. In the search bar, type "grammar of x" with x being the language you are researching (be sure to include the quotation marks!)

3. Filter results as necessary, using the Resource Type, Topic, and Language limiters on the left-hand side.

4. After clicking on a resource title, scroll down to "Get It" for details on the item's availability, including options for Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

Our collections are organized using the Library of Congress Classification system. Linguistics are shelved under subclass P, with languages in subclasses PA - PM. You can browse these subclasses on the 6th floor of McKeldin Library.

Excellent resource from Dr. Aaron Braver (Associate Professor and Director of Linguistics at Texas Tech University), which lists resources for finding grammars and phonological descriptions as well as advice for evaluating resources.
