CPJT200: Justice and Legal Thought Research Guide

A beginner's guide to research!

The Basics: Getting Started with WorldCat UMD

What is WorldCat UMD?

WorldCat UMD helps the University of Maryland community find information and library resources to support their coursework, research, and other information needs.

Because WorldCat UMD is a based on WorldCat, a shared catalog made up of library holdings from around the world, you can find and get access to resources beyond what is held by the library. You can find and access materials held by our consortial partners including other Big Ten libraries participating in the UBorrow program and USMAI libraries. Even if an item isn't held by one of our partners, WorldCat UMD can help you find and request to borrow materials from any of the more than 10,000 libraries which contribute to the WorldCat database through our InterLibrary Loan services.

How Do You Access WorldCat UMD?

You can use the search function on the UMD Libraries homepage and select WorldCat, or access it directly here

Are You an Advanced Researcher?

Explore the Advanced Search page, from the Advanced Search page click on 'Add / Remove Databases' expand your search to remote databases from a variety providers, and use index labels.

If you are having trouble finding specific materials in WorldCat UMD, consult the Finding Different Editions or Formats page to learn more about the "grouping" feature to help you better find the particular edition you may be searching for.
