East Asian Studies

East Asian Studies

The University of Maryland Libraries hold over 154,000 cataloged books, reference materials, and periodicals written in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.  The holdings are strong in the humanities and social sciences, and particularly emphasize the history and literature of East Asia.

In addition, the collection contains over 1,100 volumes of Western-language reference works, acquired primarily to support the university's teaching and research programs. These publications offer library users a wealth of materials unavailable elsewhere in the state of Maryland.
