Welcome to the CPSP218N College Park Scholars Second-Year Colloquium I research guide. The goal of this guide is to help students find and use information resources available through the University of Maryland Libraries. If you need any assistance finding information, please feel free to contact me to schedule a consultation or ask any questions.
The best place to begin any research is the UMD Libraries website! Not only can you use this site for your research, but it also provides helpful information on how to access everything UMD Libraries have to offer, including equipment available, the Top Textbooks program, and access to study spaces. You can also find information on using Interlibrary Loan to help find any material you may not be able to access through UMD.
There is the Ask a Librarian chat function on the website as well, where you can chat with a library staff member Monday-Thursday 8am-9m and Friday 8am-5pm.
McKeldin Library is the main library on campus, and it is open Sunday 11am-12am, Monday-Thursday 24 hours, Friday 12am-8pm, and Saturday 10am-9pm. These hours vary, but are kept up to date on the McKeldin Library page.
Hornbake Library is home to Special Collections and University Archives, and it is open Monday-Friday 7am-10pm. Check out the Hornbake Library page for more information and any changes to the schedule.
Your research may also lead you to the Architecture Library, the Art Library, the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library, or the STEM Library.
