Finding Books in Library Catalogs

____________________________________________

==============>>>>>>

Worldcat UBorrow Classic Catalog
WorldCat UMD includes almost everything the classic catalog has and more, including journal articles and e-books. Find items in more than 10,000 libraries. Remember, we can get an item for you even if we don't own it. Read tips and tutorials. Best option for print books. Search for and request print books directly from 15 major university libraries and the Center for Research Libraries, with combined collections of more than 90 million volumes. It’s faster than interlibrary loan, and you’ll be able to keep the book for 12 weeks (plus 1 month renewal guaranteed). Is the UMD copy checked out? Don’t recall the book from another user—UBorrow it instead!

Some formats (in particular, electronic books) are not being added to the "classic catalog." If you use the "classic catalog" you may be missing out on discovering some of our recent additions to WorldCat UMD. It does include:

  • Books and other items at UMD and other universities in Maryland.
  • Some items unique to University of Maryland, such as special collections.
