HIST 460: History of Labor in the United States

Guide to online primary sources for study of labor history

Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to help students in HIST 460 locate and access online primary sources for research projects.  Normally, historical research involves both print or other analog resources as well as online resources, but because of the current pandemic, the former are largely unavailable.  Fortunately, there is an abundance of online primary source materials available.

Most of the resources included in this guide are subscription resources which the UMD Libraries purchase.  Current students, faculty, and staff have access to them after logging in with directory ID and password.  Some resources included here are made freely available by libraries and educational institutions.

If you have questions about access or are having trouble finding something, contact Eric N. Lindquist, UMD history librarian.
