ARHU 158: Explorations in Arts and Humanities

Researching arts and humanities subjects involves both secondary works (books, journal articles, and other kinds of publications written by scholars) and primary sources, the all-important raw materials of scholarly research, which can take many different forms, both published (for example, newspapers, laws, cartoons, pamphlets) and unpublished (for example, letters, diaries, minutes of meetings). Primary sources can even be structures or material objects.  This guide introduces some of the many resources the UMD Libraries have to help you with your research in both secondary and primary sources.

Remember that you can contact your subject librarian or the Libraries' Ask Us service for further assistance.
