The University of Maryland offers graduate students a variety of resources and organizations to aid in scholarship, networking, and professional development. 

Through the English Department and the College of Arts & Humanities:

• Graduate English Organization  
  • Hosts an annual conference and offers a variety of workshops and resources for graduate students in English
• ARHU Fellowships, Grants, and Awards
  • Get money to travel to conferences, work on your dissertation, or pay off those student loans

Through the Research Commons:

• Common Quandaries
  • A workshop series geared toward graduate students that introduces high level research skills and tools
• Graduate Student Multipurpose Room 
  • A quiet space for graduate students and student veterans that requires swipe access

• The Teaching and Learning Transformation Center
  • An organization that supports UMD instructors through workshops, online tools, and consultations. The TLTC also offers a certificate program for graduate students. 
• Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities
  • ​An interdisciplinary center for research and innovation in the digital humanities. They offer a speaker series as well as opportunities to engage in digital research.
