About Nexis Uni

Nexis Uni, formerly LexisNexis Academic, is a database of over 15,000 news, business, and legal sources. (View the full list of sources, if you're curious!) Nexis Uni is a product of LexisNexis, a U.S. data analytics company initially founded to aggregate content for legal, business, and news-based research purposes.

What's included?

  • News sources: Full-text articles dating back to 1980 from major U.S. and world newspapers, magazines, newsletters, blogs, transcripts, newswires, and press releases.
  • Legal information: Full-text court cases and case law; statutes and legislation (including U.S. Supreme Court decisions dating back to 1790); administrative codes and materials; law reviews and journals; dockets; jury verdicts and settlements
  • Business information: Country reports and profiles for over 80 million companies; industry reports; mergers and acquisitions/donations, all SEC filings (full text and abstracts); patents
  • Biographies: Notable attorneys, business leaders, expert witnesses, government officials, judges, newsworthy people, and scientists

What's not included?

  • The Wall Street Journal. Find it in ProQuest Recent Newspapers or Factiva.
  • The Washington Post. Find it in ProQuest Recent Newspapers.
  • Newspapers from before the 1970s-'80s. Find them in our historical newspapers databases.
  • Charts, tables, graphs and photographs. Nexis Uni content is text only! Check the end of an article for a caption or other description of the graphics that were originally included, and then locate the article in another library database or online.
