HIST 208E: Constructing, Imagining, and Narrating Pre-Modern Cities (Kader Smail)

Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to help students in HIST 208F locate and access secondary and primary sources, both online and print.  Note that because of the pandemic, UMD access to print materials is restricted though it should improve over time.  Currently certain books in McKeldin Library can be borrowed.  Other campus libraries remained closed.  Borrowing books from other USMAI campuses and through interlibrary loan from Big Ten and other university libraries is on hold.  Consult the UMD LIbraries' updates for the latest news on opening and availability.

Most of the resources included in this guide are subscription resources which the UMD Libraries purchase.  Current students, faculty, and staff have access to them after logging in with directory ID and password.  Some resources included here are made freely available by libraries and educational institutions.

If you have questions about access or are having trouble finding something, contact Eric N. Lindquist, UMD history librarian.  You can schedule a consultation here.
