Using WorldCat UMD

  • Launch WorldCat UMD.
  • Click on Advanced Search.
  • Change the drop-down menu entry from Keyword to Subject.
  • Enter subject terms. Sample subject searches to try (in Advanced Search) are listed in the box below.
  • Set the "Audience" to Non-Juvenile and the "Language" limit to English.
  • Click Search.
  • Use the options on the left-hand side of the results screen to further narrow your results by type of material, year, subject, etc.
  • On your results list, click on the item title of interest. From the record that appears: 
    • Click on the red FindIt icon to determine if an electronic version is available.
    • Look at the “Find a copy in the library” section to determine if the item is at College Park and if it is checked out, otherwise unavailable, or on shelf. NOTE THE LIBRARY that holds the item!
