Overview

This collection is split into five parts.

The originals are located in St. Michael's College in Tenbury.

The call number in MSPAL is ML96.4 .M874 1981.

This collection of music manuscripts was gathered by the 19th century collector Reverend Sir Frederick Ouseley, a music scholar with a particular interest in early English Church music and a pioneer in the revival of Tudor music. The five parts include but are not limited to:

  • Part 1: Unpublished English and continental music manuscripts before 1650.
  • Part 2: Unpublished English music manuscripts, 1650-1800.
  • Part 3: Unpublished continental music manuscripts of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
  • Part 4: Unpublished continental music manuscripts of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
  • Part 5: Unpublished English music manuscripts of the 19th century.
