Ebook Collections at UMD Libraries

Sage Reference Collection Online versions of published reference works from SAGE. A great place to begin your research.
EBSCO eBook Collection A collection of E-texts covering topics specifically chosen by Maryland Academic Libraries. Collection strengths include computer science, business, international relations, education, environmental science, psychology, and civil rights law and history.
Gale Immigration eBooks Online full-text reference books on the subject of U.S. immigration.
ProQuest Ebook Central Ebrary is a collection of thousands of online full text books and other materials in a variety of subject areas. In order to view, copy, or print you will need to install the ebrary Reader software. Links to download the reader are available from the main page after you connect. Truncation is not supported. Searches in ISSN, ISBN, and Year are done as Text searches. All searches report 'Hits were found' rather than the number of hits. Boolean NOT and OR searches are not supported.
Gale Virtual Reference Library Gale Virtual Reference Library offers more than 85 reference sources including encyclopedias, almanacs, series, and more. Offering access to more than 300 encyclopedias and selected industry-standard reference series. Including content from SAGE Reference, John Wiley & Sons, Cambridge University Press, Berkshire Publishing Group, Cartographica, Linworth and Gale imprints.

Springer eBooks (2005-2011) Accurate reproductions of over 30,000 Springer print book publications, with search capabilities and bookmarks.

Center for Research Libraries e-collections The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) is an international consortium of university, college, and independent research libraries. Founded in 1949, CRL supports original research and inspired teaching in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences by preserving and making available to scholars a wealth of rare and uncommon primary source materials from all world regions. CRL's deep and diverse collections are built by specialists and experts at the major U.S. and Canadian research universities, who work together to identify and preserve unique and uncommon documentation and evidence, and to ensure its long-term integrity and accessibility to researchers in the CRL community. CRL is based in Chicago, Illinois, and is governed by a Board of Directors drawn from the library, research and higher education communities.

A collection of colleges, governmental agencies, education non-profits, and other education-related organizations that are focused on the mission of driving awareness, adoptions, and affordability of open textbooks. Hosted by a consortia of twenty-nine educational non-profit and for-profit organizations.
OpenStax Peer-reviewed texts written by professional content developers. A nonprofit based at Rice University and supported by several foundations. Free online and has the option to order a print book at low-cost.
Open SUNY Textbooks State University of New York's open textbook publishing initiative repository. Supported by SUNY Innovative Instruction Technology Grants.
BCcampus OpenEd A repository of open textbooks, peer reviewed and adapted by faculty in British Columbia, Canada. Can be browsed by subjects.
Textbook Revolution A student-run site dedicated to increasing the use of free educational materials by teachers and professors. Pay attention to the license status of the book found here. Many of them may not be openly licensed.
