Some of the databases that the UM Libraries subscribe to contain data that can be exported into a GIS.
McKeldin Library is a Federal Depository Library, so we receive government information for our collection. Often this is in the format of CDs that contain geospatial data. Also, we sometimes buy GIS data on CDs. CDs containing GIS data can be found through the catalog, and are physically stored on the fourth floor of McKeldin Library in the computer, GIS and microforms lab. To access data on CDs, you will need to know the call number, and you can ask at the Information Desk for the cabinets to be unlocked for you. There are also two workstations with ArcGIS 9.3 in the fourth floor lab.
