Nation Digital Archive
The Nation is America's oldest weekly magazine and one if its premier journals of opinion since its inception in 1865. The Nation has long bee regarded as one of the country's definitive journalistic voices of writing on politics, culture, books and the arts and continues to stand as the independent voice in American journalism. This database contains indexing & abstracting and full text for the complete archive of The Nation beginning with its first issue in 1865 through to the present.

The New Republic, founded in 1914, presents insights from a variety of viewpoints on topics such as politics, foreign policy, culture, current events, the arts, and much more. Full text database comprised of 175 titles, primarily of the many ongoing periodicals that deal with gender issues, including academic and scholarly journals, regional publications, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, booklets and reports. Subject areas covered include: government, history and politics, lesbian and gay studies, women's studies, and other humanities and social sciences disciplines. Dates of coverage of some publications are 1970 to the present.

Off our backs
Off Our Backs was a non-profit feminist news journal by, for, and about women, published from 1970 until 2008. It was the longest continuously published surviving feminist newspaper in the United States. The paper was run by a collective where all descisions were made by consensus. Although based out of Washington, D.C., the newsjournal covered local, national, and international topics pertaining to women's, feminist, and lesbian issues and culture. The mission of off our backs was "to provide news and information about women's lives and feminist activism; to educate the public about the status of women around the world; to serve as a forum for feminist ideas and theory; to be an information resource on feminist, women's, and lesbian culture; and to seek social justice and equality for women worldwide.''

The Rose and Joseph Pagnani Collection:
Girls' Series Books from 1917 to the Present. The Rose and Joseph Pagnani Collection was donated to the University of Maryland Libraries Special Collections in 1998. Elissa Pagnani, who gained a Masters of Library Science degree from the University of Maryland College of Library and Information Services in 1995, donated the collection in honor of her parents Rose and Joseph Pagnani. The collection contains over 300 books from 33 different girls’ series published from 1917 to 1980. The bulk of the collection dates from the 1930s through the 1960s. It is located in the Maryland Room in Hornbake Library

The First Appearances Collection consists of over 1,300 periodicals containing the "first appearance," or first public dissemination, of many noteworthy 20th century literary works.
