When working on a class assignment or research paper, you usually will need to provide a bibliography that lists your sources. Your instructors will require that your bibliography follow a style manual. The MLA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing, the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, and Chicago Style for Students and Researchers are examples of a style manuals for writers. Be sure to check with your instructor to see which of these manuals they prefer that you use.
At McKeldin Library, these manuals are available at the Library Services Desk. This page contains web resources that will help you with a variety of citation styles and citation tools.
