On December 4th, 2014, UMD celebrated Platero y Yo and Juan Ramon Jimenez. The symposium, held in McKeldin's Special Events room, featured Graciela Nemes, Mercedes Julia, PhD, and student readers.
From December 2014 to February 2015, an exhibit featuring publications of Platero y Yo found in the UMD libraries was displayed in the McKeldin Library entryway. The donkey featured in the exhibit was created using the library's 3-D printer.
