Locating Media in WorldCat UMD

Blu-ray, DVD, VHS, LaserDisc, and audiocassette collections have been relocated to McKeldin Library and are now available for loan. To borrow these materials, please place a request in our online catalog. To limit your search results in WorldCat to media titles – on the Advanced Search Screen - change the Library to University of Maryland College Park and the Format to VHS or DVD to locate materials housed in McKeldin Library. Library employees will retrieve and make them available for pick up at the Library Services Desk on the first floor of McKeldin at 3-4 scheduled times per day. Library Services Desk employees can also retrieve items for users on the fly, as needed.

Items in the circulating collection are listed as "UMCP McKeldin Library Media,” and can be checked out.

Your professor will be able to place a request to check out non-circulating DVD’s for in-class viewing.

Legacy formats remain unavailable for the time being. Our long-term goal is to consolidate the media collections as much as possible in one location. Certain materials, valuable but less frequently used, will be moved to Severn Library, our off-campus facility. We have already begun consulting with faculty to make decisions about the collection.
