What is the SRI?

While the American Statistics Index (ASI) indexes statistical data produced by the U.S. Federal Government, the Statistical Reference Index (SRI) is a guide to statistics found in publications from State government agencies, professional and trade organizations, universities, associations and research centers. SRI provides national and statewide data, local data, and data on foreign countries.

Where to Find the SRI

You can find the Statistical Reference Index (SRI) in hardcover and microfiche formats.The hardcover version covers the years 1980-2006 and can be located in the Government Information Reference Section on the 4th floor of McKeldin Library. 

The call number for the SRI hardcover version is HA 217.S77. Its catalog record can be viewed here (requires UMD login).

The SRI on microfiche covers the years 1985-2011 and can be found in the microfiche cabinets on the 1st floor of McKeldin Library, in the Periodicals Section (see "Microforms" on the 1st floor map below).

The SRI microfiche have no call number, but are arranged by the type of issuing agency (e.g., associations, business organizations, commercial publishers, research organizations, States, etc.). View the microfiche catalog record here.
