English & American Literature

This guide will help you locate resources for the study of English and American literature. The emphasis is on material available in the University of Maryland Libraries, but some Internet sources are also included.

Google Books

Use Google Books to do very specific keyword searching within the full-text of books. For example search:  virginia woolf room of one's own alice walker to locate books that include these keywords.

Sometimes you will be able to read the entire book or chapter in Google Books.

You can also check WorldCat to see if McKeldin Library has the book in paper copy and check it out.
