Access Full Text Online
Above this section you may find a "View Online" button and, within it, links labeled “View Full Text." The way the links are presented depends on various behind-the-scenes decisions. You might even get two links that go to the same place. Try them all.

Availability : UMCP and Partners

Availability: UMCP and Partners
Here you will get the holdings info from Aleph: branch library, call number, whether it’s on the shelf, and OPAC notes if present. If we or another USMAI library have the item, you will also get the Place Hold button, which works the same as the one in Aleph. If we do NOT own the item you will get the Request Item button instead, which will route you through the regular ILL system. The University System of MD & Partners box is down a ways but works the same as UMCP so no screenshot is included.

Holding Libraries (Find it in Libraries Globally)

Holding Libraries
Finally, you can see which other libraries own the item.

A few things about finding globally:

a.    Results are sorted by proximity to your current location. You can enter a different location if you like.
b.    The default in this screen is to show you all editions. This can be confusing if you are interested in a specific edition. You might see a local library has the item and you get excited but then realize WCUMD was referring to a different edition and not the one you want. (I speak from experience!) You might also see something that UMD does not own according to the box above but when you go to Worldwide libraries it says we do have it and that is because it’s guiding you to other editions. **If you know you only want the specific edition, you need to click just this edition.**
c.    Don’t forget, if we do not own the item, the user will get the button to request through interlibrary loan.
