Finding Audio Recordings

Finding audio recordings at UMD.

Overview

MSPAL has a large collection of physical audio recordings located in two locations: Paged Collections and IPAM. Both are accessed from the Circulation Desk. Most Paged Collections recordings may be checked out for one week (reserves, rock & roll, and boxed sets do not circulate). IPAM recordings do not circulate and are only available 9-5 Monday-Friday.

On the UMD Libraries' homepage, search by composer, title, genre, or instrument, then use the format limits along the left side of the results page to restrict your results to music. You can also choose specific mediums/formats like CD, LP, and eMusic.

Note that selecting eMusic will not retrieve all of the online audio we have available. If you cannot find what you are looking for in Worldcat UMD, or if you just want to broaden your search, try searching our streaming audio databases directly. The next section of this guide will explain how.
